Payments
Payments/Billings:
- Payment at the time of consultation.
It is the practice policy that payment is required at the time of consultation. You will be informed at the time of booking, the approximate cost and the government rebate available. The total cost may include any additional tests or treatment as discussed at your consultation. If this is difficult for you, please inform the staff to discuss the urgency of the procedure or if it could be deferred to another visit.
- There will be an out of pocket payment.
Since 2007 the government rebates have not covered the cost of running a practice.
- Reduced fee for some patients
A reduced fee has been arranged for pensioner and healthcare card patients. (no bulk billing)
- Veterans
Although the government rebate is different to the practice fee, we are pleased to see you.
- Credit cards are accepted (except American Express and Diners)
- Operation fees
Some health funds have a no gap benefit. Dr Dunlop may accept your no gap health fund rebate. Otherwise there will be a gap. It is important to check your costs/benefits with your health fund before your operation. Some patients arrange to self-fund an operation. Our staff will advise you of the item number and approximate costs, for the surgeon, anaesthetist and theatre. It is wise to discuss the hospital costs with the hospital before the operation.
